USMSThe United States Marshal's Service Fugitive Task Force is an active, collocated, multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional initiative, composed of officers and agents from participating federal and local law enforcement agencies in the HIDTA region. The goal of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF) is to pursue and arrest federal, state and local fugitives who are members of drug trafficking organizations (DTO's) through long term investigative efforts.
The task force is staffed by local and federal agents and is supervised by a USMS Supervisory Deputy Marshal. The task force mission will be accomplished by:
- Investigating, arresting and prosecuting groups identified with linkages to National Priority Target List organizations involved in the import and distribution of controlled substances.
- Supporting investigative and law enforcement efforts, developing intelligence and coordinating inquiries and submissions through the HIDTA Intelligence and Technical Support Center Deconfliction Office.
- Pursue the seizure of assets related to the importation and distribution of controlled substances.
- Supporting investigations with the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) and District Attorney's Office (DAO), in order to facilitate the maximum number of OCDETF prosecutions and lengths of sentences under the Federal and State laws.
